Dogs of the Month

MAGGIE MAY AND SASSY JANE (URGENT!!)

MAGGIE AND SASSY HAVE BEEN SAVED AND ARE NOW ADJUSTING IN THEIR NEW HOME. THANKS TO ALL WHO OFFERED TO HELP, OFFERED AN EAR TO LISTEN OR A SHOULDER TO LEAN ON OR EVEN JUST CARED ENOUGH TO ASK ABOUT THEM AND SHOWED CONCERN THOUGH NOT IN A POSITION TO TAKE THEM. MAGGIE AND SASSY are Senior Beagle/Lab mixes who are in desperate need of a forever home or rescue. Maggie and Sassy's family is losing their home and unfortunately, where they are going to have to live, pets are not allowed. Various shelters, humane societies, no-kill shelters, rescues have been contacted and no one has offered to help these precious girls. Can you open your heart to them? They are housetrained and spayed. Maggie (yellow) is the Mother and 14 years of age. Sassy (black) is the daughter and 12 years of age. They are calm and sweet dogs and Beagle size. Please help us save them! For more info, call Kim Perry at (606) 638-0512 or email potterperry41230@yahoo.com. DO NOT CALL THE HUMANE SOCIETY ANIMAL SHELTER FOR INFO!

PRINCESS!!

PRINCESS is a female Black Lab mix, possibly with Australian Shepherd because of the speckling on her feet, who is 1 year of age. Princess came to the shelter as a stray but it was soon discovered she was turned in by her owners because the husband didn't want to deal with her anymore. Princess is a great girl with lots of love to give to some lucky person. She also has lots of energy as common to Labs and Aussies so room to exercise would be required. For more information on these special companions, see their individual pages on this website.

Cats of the month

TORY!!

TORY is a 1 year old female Tortoiseshell currently calling the shelter home. Tory came to the shelter as a stray when she was just a small kitten and has grown up in the shelter. Tory has a gorgeous long coat and is very sweet and affectionate. She would make a wonderful addition to any household and will provide many years of love and companionship! Won't you come and meet her?

COKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!
THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL ADOPTER WHO GAVE OUR SPECIAL COKIE A NEW HOME! Cokie is a female Siamese/Tabby mix who is around 6 mths of age. Cokie is named as such because she was literally stuffed up inside a Coke machine in Louisa by some boys who thought such a cruel act would be funny. Cokie survived several hours inside the Coke machine until someone heard her and she was rescued by the Louisa Fire Department. Cokie is gorgeous and just as sweet as she is beautiful. If you have been looking for a new feline friend, please check out the cats and kittens at the shelter and give a shelter cat a chance for a loving home!

Funding And Volunteers Needed!!! ASAP!!!

We are in terrible need of funding and volunteers for the running of the shelter. We are always over budget and it is hard to continue at this rate. If the shelter would ever close, there would be NO SHELTER for these animals in the near future. These animals will be taken to another shelter with a much lower adoption rate. If you can help us in any way, please contact the shelter before 3PM Mon-Fri at (606) 673-4509 or after hours/weekends, call Kim at 606-638-0512 or Email: potterperry41230@yahoo.com.
